MANCHESTER FOLK FESTIVAL ANNOUNCEMENT

With great sadness we announce that Manchester Folk Festival will not take place this year.

This has been a tough decision for us, especially as our passion is to support the folk, roots and acoustic music industry which is already suffering so much as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, our priority must be the health of our audiences, artists, staff, volunteers and partner organisations.

It may seem early to make this decision, but at the moment we do not know when social distancing measures in concert halls will be lifted. On top of that, we’re currently unable to put the gigs on sale for a number of reasons, including the closure of our partner venue box offices. Manchester Folk Festival relies on ticket sales to operate and, sadly, these two factors mean that we do not expect to be able to welcome enough audience members to make the festival financially viable for 2020.

We will be back! The festival will run in 2021 from 21st – 24th October. Please save the dates. We can’t wait to see you all there and we promise to bring you the absolute best the folk music world has to offer!

Until then, stay well and in the meantime our team will continue to bring you other events to enjoy.
