Calling Greater Manchester Folk Musicians!
OPEN CALL: Perform at Cambridge Folk Festival as part of the English Folk Expo – Greater Manchester Showcase 2024
English Folk Expo are pleased to announce a special partnership with Cambridge Folk Festival for 2024. Supported by funding from Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), English Folk Expo has the opportunity to showcase 4 artists from (or resident in) Greater Manchester, who work in the genre of folk, roots or acoustic music, at this year’s Cambridge Folk Festival.
Details:
- The performance will take place on Friday 26th July 2024 on Stage 3 during the day. Exact timings to be confirmed. Artists will be required to play a set length of approx. 40mins.
- A fee will be paid of £150 per musician (up to a maximum of £600 per band).
- A contribution towards travel expenses will be made.
- A camping and festival pass will be provided to each artist / band for the full duration of the festival.
- Sound Roots will provide a 1:1 mentoring session to each artist / band to prepare them on how to get the best out of the opportunity.
PLEASE NOTE: To apply to this performance, artists must be from or currently reside in Greater Manchester. Where the application is from a band, at least one member must be from or reside in Greater Manchester.
Artists will be selected via a combined selection panel from English Folk Expo and Cambridge Folk Festival. Application closing date is midnight on Sunday 25th February 2024. We aim to be touch with all artists W/C 25th March 2024.
