Folk music by its very nature is grounded in community. However, in the last few weeks this closeness of our community has revealed some sad and harrowing allegations around inappropriate conduct.
English Folk Expo strongly opposes unwanted or unsolicited sexual advances in all settings, including educational and professional business settings.
We are aware that some organisations are now reviewing their safeguarding standards and at English Folk Expo we are also working to ensure that our safeguarding structures are robust and provide the protection our clients, partners and artists need.
We must all be vigilant and cognisant of our surroundings and the concerns of others, and together play our part in ensuring that everyone in our community is safe.
