On Tuesday 9th January Folk on Foot brings you The Official Folk Albums Chart of the Year Show for 2023, counting down the biggest selling and most streamed folk albums of the year and including guest appearances by Sean Cooney of the Young’Uns, Kathryn Tickell, Shirley Collins and Johnny Flynn and Robert Macfarlane, plus exclusive performances from James Yorkston and Nina Persson, Angeline Morrison and Katherine Priddy.
There are also highlights of the December 2023 chart, including an interview with Jim Moray and music from Spell Songs, Eliza Carthy and Jon Boden and Kate Rusby.

2022 was a remarkable year for album releases from the UK’s folk scene and to celebrate, Folk on Foot’s Matthew Bannister presents The Official Folk Albums Chart of the Year Show 2022. On 24 January 2023, he counts down the Top 40 best-selling and most streamed folk albums as revealed by the Official Charts Company in partnership with English Folk Expo.

Hosted by Matthew Bannister and Kitty MacFarlane (who stepped in at the last minute to replace a poorly Lady Nade – get well soon!), the Official Folk Albums Chart of the Year Show 2021 counts down the top 40 best-selling albums of 2021.
The show features live performances from Gwenifer Raymond, Spiers & Boden and Katherine Priddy plus exclusive performances from Spell Songs, from Lost Words and The Longest Johns.
