Calling folk musicians!
Later this year, English Folk Expo will be launching a massive new programme of lectures, essays, conversations and more under the banner ‘Folk Talk Academy’
The aim is to provide a range of resources for musicians to learn about different parts of the music business, topping up knowledge wherever is helpful and potentially even laying the foundation for other income streams.
Anyway,
We’re theming this whole project around the idea of a virtual university or college. As with any student body, as well as the academic side is also a social aspect; the Student Union.
English Folk Expo will commission SIX Student Union activities and are seeking submissions
Write to us with your suggestions for Folk Talk Academy Student Union. We’ll pick the best 6 ideas, and give you £250 to deliver it.
The only caveat is that your ideas must be fully deliverable online and be accessible to anyone who wants to engage.
This could be anything including but not limited to…
- A folk themed zoom event
- Amazing cover videos
- An unexpected interview / conversation
- Something we’re not imaginative enough to have thought of yet

Please send your ideas through before the end of April 2021. Your activity / content should be delivered between May-August 2021
