Artists featuring in Friday’s festival club are:

The Carrivick Sisters:

The Carrivick Sisters are one of the UK’s top young bluegrass and folk acts. Twins Laura and Charlotte perform their original songs and instrumentals along with a few carefully chosen covers on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, and clawhammer banjo. Their busy touring schedule is rapidly building them a reputation for engaging and entertaining live performances with tight sibling vocal harmonies and multi-instrumental virtuosity. Having grown up in South Devon, an area rich in folk lore and legends, much of their original material is inspired by their local surroundings and history.

Will Page:
Well known as the fiddle playing front man of Americana band, Noble Jacks, Will Page is a folk singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Sussex. Inspired from a young age after seeing Fairport Convention’s Dave Swarbrick perform live at his local village hall in Chiddingly (East Sussex), Will has continued Swarbs’ legacy of British folk fiddle playing into the modern era. Later discovering his melodic singing voice, Will began to combine singing with his fiddle playing (and other instruments) in a style reminiscent of artists such as Seth Lakeman and Bellowhead’s Jon Boden .
With three studio albums, plus a viral YouTube single (Dreams Carry Me On) under his belt with Noble Jacks, Will is now also recording and performing as a solo artist, showcasing his more traditional folk writing and playing style. Expect heartfelt vocals accompanied by guitar, harmonica, energetic fiddle and foot-stomping rhythms!

Jacob & Drinkwater:
UK alt-folk duo Jacob & Drinkwater have been called “stand out new folk” by BBC6 Music and “inventive and thrilling” by R2 Magazine. Jacob’s sweeping vocals never fail to captivate, delivering many a spine-tingling moment; the fluidity and precision of his finger-picking underpinned by Drinkwater’s nimbly rhythmic double bass; at times sweetly soaring, haunting, percussive and driving, the layers of depth a perfect counterfoil. Featured numerous times on BBC Radio 2, BBC6 Music and lauded by their musical peers as one of the most accomplished acts touring the circuit today.
