Part of Manchester Folk Festival 2022.

Singer and bouzouki player Daoirí (pronounced ‘Derry’) Farrell is described by some of the biggest names in Irish folk music as one of most important singers to come out of Ireland in recent years. Six months after releasing the album ‘True Born Irishman’ Daoirí won two prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2017 for Best Newcomer and Best Traditional Track, and performed live at the awards ceremony at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Since then he has toured the UK, and played at festivals in Australia, Canada, the UK, Belgium, Denmark and more. In February 2018 he toured with the all-star Transatlantic Sessions in major venues across the UK.  Daoirí released his new album ‘A Lifetime Of Happiness’, produced by Dónal Lunny, in February 2019 and in Ireland was nominated for three RTE Folk Awards that year. He is joined by uilleann piper Mark Redmond and bodhran player Robbie Walsh as the Daoirí Farrell Trio.

Through the first Covid lockdown Daoirí attracted up to 85,000 viewers a week for his weekly live streamed concerts which ran every Sunday night from March-August 2020.

He is currently recording his fourth album, co-produced with Trevor Hutchinson (The Waterboys/Lúnasa).

‘His powerfully unadorned vocals might be from any era, variously recalling Paul Brady and Andy Irvine…it’s a powerful statement.’ **** Mojo

Dani Larkin:

Pipped by RTE Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, Double J (Australia) and Folk Radio UK as a rising star on the Irish folk and alternative scene, this past year has been the breakthrough year for this emerging alt-folk artist Dani Larkin, with the release of her debut album ‘Notes For A Maiden Warrior’. Nominated for ‘Best Album’ at 2021’s Northern Ireland Music Prize, and ‘Best Emerging Artist’ at RTE Folk Awards, Dani Larkin has been an artist picking up speed with each release, and one that has been making her mark on the industry in her own way. With appearances at recent editions of SXSW, The Great Escape, Doolin Folk Fest, Folk Alliance, and selected to open for Snow Patrol to sold-out venues of London’s Palladium Theatre, the Waterfront Hall in Belfast, as well as a special home shows for Hot House Flowers – she is a live act not to be missed.
An artist renowned for her unforgettable live performances, her vocal takes centre stage, accompanied always by her impressive guitar and banjo playing. Larkin has the ability to blend the old and new perfectly through her songwriting, delicately weaving themes of Celtic folklore with the more modern-day landscape of her own experiences.
