In our second year of publishing this data, we are learning important lessons about how to ensure our work is representative of the wider population, across stages, teams and audiences.

At English Folk Expo, we are constantly striving to make the folk, roots and and acoustic music industry more accessible, diverse and inclusive. As trustee champion for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, I’m really proud of the progress we are making towards this aim. As this report indicates, there are areas we are making good progress – for instance in terms of gender balance and LGBTQI+ representation – but, as always there is still more work to be done across. Well done to Tom and the all the EFEx team for their effort and commitment to making this industry more reflective of the broader society in which we live. Onwards!
